Professor Slavcho Tomov Tomov, MD, PhD, DSc is a physician, specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Oncology. He is a professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Rector of Medical University – Pleven, Bulgaria. He completed training and specialization courses in Laparoscopic and Gynecological Surgery at Friedrich-Schiller-University, Germany; specialization in Gynecologic Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy, Groupe Hospitalier Cochin, Paris; Specialization in Laparoscopic and Gynecological Surgery, International School for Pelvic Surgery in Köln, Germany.
Prof. Tomov is a certified patient-side assistant to work with da Vinci S robotic system after completed specialization course at IRCAD-EITS, Strasbourg, France. He is a certified console surgeon for work with da Vinci robotic system after completed specialization course at IRCAD-EITS, Strasbourg, France. His fields of professional research interest are surgical treatment of malignant and benign tumors of the female genital organs; ovarian cancer - expression of receptors for epidermal growth factor; laparoscopic surgery for gynecological diseases; robotic gynecological surgery; cancer of the vulva - reconstructive surgery.
Prof. Tomov is a member of European Association for Transluminal Surgery (EATS); European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO); Society of European Robotic Gynecological Surgery (SERGS); Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS); South Eastern European Robotic Society (SEERS); Bulgarian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Bulgarian Association of Oncology and Gynecology and Bulgarian Association of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (BAMIGS). Prof. Tomov is nominated for Physician of the year and honored with an award and Honorary Sign on the occasion of the day of the Bulgarian Physician for his achievements in Medicine. His biography was published in the 6th edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. He is elected for member of International Biographical Centre (IBC) “TOP 100 HEALTH PROFESSIONALS 2007”, Cambridge, England.
