tudents and lecturers from the Faculty of Health Care at the Medical University – Pleven participated in the international interdisciplinary course Blended Intensive Programme "Simulation-based Medical Training Using Advanced Technologies", which took place from July 6 to 10, 2026, in Poland under the Erasmus+ KA131 programme.
The course was organized by the Department of Obstetrics, Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Computer Science of John Paul II University in Biala Podlaska, Poland. Akademia Bialska.
The training was attended by the nursing students – Kristiana Pranarova, Yoana Yovkova, Nikol Romilova, and Viktoria Nikolova, as well as the midwifery students – Velina Ivanova, Nadezhda Marinova, and Nikol Tsankova, alongside the lecturers Assist. Prof. Petya Dilova, PhD, Assist. Prof. Polya Gergova, PhD, Assistant Isabella Georgieva, and Assistant Silviya Lishkovska.
During the course, the participants worked with innovative simulation training technologies, including 3D virtual reality, through which they practiced caring for a virtual patient using virtual tools to monitor vital signs and diagnostic tests.
In the final part of the training, the students participated in high-fidelity simulation scenarios recreating the admission of an emergency patient and working within a multidisciplinary team.
As part of the academic programme, Assist. Prof. Petya Dilova, PhD, delivered a lecture on "Technologies in Pediatric Palliative Care", presenting best practices and modern technological solutions in pediatric palliative care.
The international course brought together participants from Bulgaria, Poland, Chile, Portugal, and Lithuania, who exchanged knowledge, professional experience, and best practices in the field of simulation-based medical training.
