For another consecutive year, students and a lecturer from MU-Pleven took part in the CQMU Study and Culture Tour 2026, organized by Chongqing Medical University, China.
The international program gathered over 70 lecturers and students from 15 countries, combining academic training, professional exchange, and an introduction to Chinese culture.
Representatives from MU-Pleven participated in four out of the five thematic tracks of the program:
- Angel Dimitrov – 5th-year medical student – Chinese Culture
- Karolina Petrakieva – 3rd-year medical student – Chinese Culture
- Simona Yakimova – 5th-year medical student – Public Health
- Ventsislava Koleva – 5th-year medical student – Pediatrics
- Vladislava Dimitrova – 4th-year pharmacy student – Public Health
Asst. Prof. Plamena Panayotova – Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy – Metabolomics
The participants visited Chongqing Medical University, the university museum, classrooms, the library, and sports facilities, as well as the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, including the Department of Gastroenterology and the research center.
In the Chinese Culture course, participants were introduced to Chinese history, traditional clothing, the philosophy of Lao Tzu and Tao, Chinese calligraphy, the basics of the Chinese language, and the traditional art of red paper-cutting.
The visit provided an opportunity for new knowledge, international experience, and networking with representatives of academic communities from various countries.
MU-Pleven continues to develop its international partnerships and academic mobility, creating opportunities for education, professional development, and cultural exchange in a global environment.
