We are proud of the scientific achievements of our researchers!

Our leading scientists have published an article in the prestigious international journal International Journal of Molecular Sciences (a Q1 journal with a high impact factor), dedicated to the role of collagen and mesenchymal stem cells in tissue regeneration.
The study shows that even the early stages of collagen glycation (a process associated with diabetes and aging) significantly impair its interaction with mesenchymal stem cells—reducing cell adhesion, spreading, and the ability to remodel the extracellular matrix.
The results reveal new mechanisms through which, already at the initial stages of glycation, cell communication is compromised, with potential consequences for tissue regeneration and the development of chronic diseases.
Congratulations to the team from Medical University – Pleven, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Sofia University for this significant scientific contribution and for the достойното representation of Bulgarian science on the international stage!
