From April 22nd to 25th, 2026, Medical University – Pleven will host the Second National Conference "Pleven Minimally Invasive Days" with international participation.
The event, organized by the Bulgarian Association of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery (BAMIRS), will be held under the motto: "Predict, Prevent, Control"
Main focus this year:
"Complications and risk factors in minimally invasive surgery" – focusing on thoracic, abdominal, urological, and gynecological surgery.
The forum will bring together leading specialists from Bulgaria and abroad, who will present:
- modern achievements
- clinical experience
- innovative surgical techniques
The Chairman of the conference is Corr. Memb. Prof. Slavcho Tomov, and the scientific and organizing committees are headed by **Acad. Dr. Grigor Gorchev and Prof. Dr. Dobromir Dimitrov.
For the first time: a special section on minimally invasive surgery in veterinary medicine – a new opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange.
Pre-congress course (April 22–23):
Practical training for young doctors and residents with international experts from the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons, including hands-on sessions and work on real cases.
The scientific program includes:
- robotic and minimally invasive surgery
- gastroenterology and endoscopy
- international sessions
- training for medical professionals
- symposia on innovations in oncology and new technologies
