The Research Institute is a key structural unit and a leading integrated scientific organization for the advancement of research activities at Medical University – Pleven. The Institute brings together highly qualified experts and state-of-the-art research infrastructure to support excellence in scientific and innovation-driven activities.
Mission
The primary mission of the Research Institute is to conduct independent and collaborative fundamental, applied, and interdisciplinary research in the fields of biomedical, medical-veterinary, pharmaceutical, clinical, and medical-social sciences.
A major priority of the Institute is to enhance the quality, impact, and international competitiveness of scientific research through:
- the implementation of innovative methods, technologies, and scientific approaches;
- the promotion of interdisciplinary and collaborative research;
- strengthening research capacity and scientific potential;
- the development and implementation of high-quality national and international research projects;
- fostering translational research and facilitating the practical application of scientific achievements.
Research Objectives and Activities
- To promote and conduct fundamental, applied, and interdisciplinary research of high scientific merit, societal relevance, and international visibility;
- To publish and disseminate research outcomes in prestigious national and international scientific journals, conferences, and academic forums;
- To organize and coordinate competitive funding procedures for scientific research projects;
- To organize scientific forums, seminars, workshops, training courses, and initiatives aimed at enhancing research capacity and academic excellence;
- To develop and implement educational programs and training modules aligned with the profile of the interdisciplinary research groups within the Institute and integrate them into the curricula of the academic programs at Medical University – Pleven;
- To establish and expand partnerships with national and international scientific organizations, universities, research institutes, and innovation networks.
